Denis Reggie Moments

For Melissa and Jeremy, a wedding on the Plaza just outside NBC studios in New York was the heartfelt beginning of their married life together shared with millions of viewers during the live network broadcast. Of course, America had already embraced the handsome couple and their touching, bittersweet story of love separated by war and thousands of miles.

I’ve had a long and happy history with NBC and the Today Show over the years… last month’s wedding was number 8 for me as the official photographer. I was not only excited to be working with this happy and photogenic couple, but it was also the inaugural assignment of my upcoming Denis Reggie Experience by Bella Pictures offering. With DREx by Bella, brides across America will have access to my hands-off style, polished approach, and exceptional quality albums… now every bride can be a celebrity on her wedding day!

After reviewing portfolios from hundreds of talented photojournalists, I will identify, assemble and continually train the elite DREx/Bella team to serve clients in many U.S. metropolitan areas beginning mid-2011. To assure consistency with the documentary mission and adherence to my strict standard, I will personally review and certify each and every DREx album.

As for independent commissions for wedding assignments, I continue to offer my full range of personal wedding photography coverage and services anywhere – just as I have since Day 1  - along with my exceptional, Atlanta staff.

Telling the happy couple’s exciting story with our cameras meant a very early start for the DREx team – yes, the couple and their attendants arrived at 4:00 a.m. to begin preparations for the big moment. I always love behind-the-scenes action and naturally didn’t want to miss any of the fun happenings and details for their album.

Here is a sneak peek at some of the image layouts being prepared by the DREx/Bella team for the couple’s keepsake leather album. Because this year’s wedding theme was Modern Love, we opted for a clean, magazine style presentation blending color and black and white images. I have also specially designed a DREx/Bella album to complement the contemporary theme.  Our finished product will be proudly presented to the couple upon return from their honeymoon… stay tuned.

The always amazing Joshua Radin serenaded newlyweds Melissa and Jeremy for their first dance on arrival at Hudson Terrace for the chic reception. He performed “You Got What I Need” from his latest album “The Rock and the Tide.”

My buddy, the amazing Colin Cowie, was on board to create the reception setting with his impeccable flair and he did not disappoint. We had a nice visit in New York along with another longtime friend and mega-talent, Knot editor Carley Roney. She, too, was part of our team assembled by NBC to assure that Melissa and Jeremy’s wedding and reception were both beautiful and memorable. Mission accomplished, to say the least, even with the challenges of a rainy day.

This was one of the most delightful Today Show weddings yet, and given the legendary high standards of the NBC team, that’s saying a lot. I was truly honored to be on board…. and what a perfect launch for the Denis Reggie Experience by Bella Pictures.
